Convergence Culture
convergence culture has affected me in many ways but one things really stands out to me as a major thing… the lovely item that is my cell phone. i remeber growing up and never ever even seeing a cell phone but now everyone whos everyone has one. for gods sake my grandparents have one. on top of that theres like a new style or new advanced thing in the cell phones like every other week.
it started as a phone. big in size but portable. then it grew smaller but with more things to do on it like basic games. then it grew even smaller and became a walky talky as well. then it grew real small and was able to text. then it grew smaller and could take pictures. next came the music capabilitys then came voice activation and now we are at a cell that can carry as much info on it as a 90 gb ipod as well as access the internet.
growing up even when i had a cell like in 6th grade i never carryed it due to its size and the fact that i didnt need to. but now i cant go anywhere with out my cell because im constantly getting something wether it be a txt a call or w.e my cell has become a huge part of my life and now i hate to say it but i would go nuts without it.
